Should I Buy This? is a browser extension that helps people evaluate purchase decisions. It works without an account, artificial intelligence, a bank connection, or external network requests.
Information the extension handles
When you activate the extension on a product page, it may read product information visible on that active page, such as the product name and price. The extension also handles information you choose to enter, which may include income, expenses, savings goals, purchase preferences, and notes.
If you use features such as saved temptations, goals, decision history, or share cards, the relevant product and decision information may be saved locally in your browser.
How information is used
This information is used only to provide the extension’s user-facing features: detecting a product and price, calculating purchase scores, showing financial-pressure and purchase-logic guidance, supporting waiting periods and goals, and displaying locally saved history or share cards.
Local storage and transmission
Financial information, purchase information, preferences, goals, and decision history are processed and stored locally on your device using browser storage. The extension does not transmit this information to the developer or to third parties. It makes no external network calls.
Sharing and sale of data
The extension does not sell, rent, disclose, or transfer user data to third parties. It does not use user data for advertising, creditworthiness, lending, or unrelated purposes.

Retention and deletion
Locally stored information remains on your device until you delete it through the extension, clear the extension’s browser storage, or uninstall the extension. Because the developer does not receive this information, the developer cannot retrieve or delete it remotely.
